what's new...

several improvements have been made recently at the campsite:

We've refurbished our climbing complex...

The new look complex now includes a 33ft climbing wall and two abseiling walls; a 15ft beginners wall and a 33ft wall. In addition to the climbing and abseiling walls, the climbing complex is also surrounded by a 117ft (across) bouldering or traversing wall. The climbing wall has various routes, for all ages and abilities, including a step and overhang. The tower has a permanent internal staircase, providing easy access to the top.

Three new outdoor activities have been opened in the Copse to provide fun and healthy challenges for all ages without the need for qualified Leader supervision...

Our agility trail has twelve above ground challenges linked by stepping stone logs... can you complete the trail without touching the ground? This activity has been designed for young people aged under 15 years of age.

Our two ground-level trampolines provide fun and exercise for all ages and are suitable for young people with special needs.

Our adventure playground is designed around a mature oak tree with a tree house. The two play towers leading to the tree house and the house walkway are wheelchair accessible. Amongst the many play features is a wheelchair swing. This activity has been designed for young people aged under 12 years of age.

Our new toilet and shower facilities are now completed with toilets, washing facilities and free hot water showers with separate facilities for the disabled and a baby changing area

A bouldering wall has been constructed in the climbing complex to increase the range of activities available for all age groups

The major redevelopment of the Jubilee Centre is now complete

The Indoor Shooting Range (known as the Centenary Hut) is now complete - this will enable target shooting to take place throughout the year

The Dad Atkins Centre has been completely refurbished and redecorated and now has central heating, a new kitchen and better leader accommodation

We have installed security fencing around the whole perimeter of the site with separate entrances for vehicles and for pedestrians to improve the safety of our visitors and ranch style fencing internally

We have laid a new drive to improve access into the main field and the campsite from the Duck Lane entrance and new paths in the copse area to improve access, particularly for the less able, to the copse sites which have been opened up and re-seeded

The archery range has been improved to provide cover and lighting for participants to enable shooting and archery to take place throughout the year
